Freeport, The Bahamas → Freeport, Bahamas – Per consistency with Long Island, Bahamas. "The" is rarely used in article titles, too - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 03:15, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

• Oppose- if anything, Long Island, Bahamas should be moved. The current construction is used by Nassau, The Bahamas. The main article for the country is The Bahamas, so the subdivisions should follow. estar8806 (talk) ★ 03:57, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

• Support there was a discussion at Talk:Nassau, The Bahamas#Requested move 25 February 2022 where there was clear consensus not to include "The" but it was moved without discussion last year and should be moved back. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:55, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

• Support per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:CONCISE. Curiously, a Google N-gram returns zero for the articled version. Nevertheless, usage found with the article does include grammatical structures which are irrelevant in the context of disambiguation (e.g. "Freeport, The Bahamas' second-largest city....") - Davidships (talk) 23:50, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
