[edit]

Full disclosure: I have a conflict of interest in this topic as a politically active Fullerton resident who has written about Fred Jung in the past. I am presenting this proposed content here on the Talk page for transparency and to invite input from neutral editors.

I suggest adding a "Controversies" or "Criticism" section to the article based on reliably sourced public events:

  1. Mayoral Rotation Policy: In December 2024, Councilmember Jung declined to follow the city's Fair Rotation policy for Mayor by opting not to support Councilmember Zahra and instead nominating himself for a third term as mayor .
  2. SB 79 Opposition Letter: On March 27th 2025, Jung sent a letter opposing California Senate Bill 79 using city letterhead, despite the issue not being agendized or voted on by the Fullerton City Council .
  3. Relationship with Developer Tony Bushala: Local developer Tony Bushala, who contributed to Jung’s campaign via the Fullerton Taxpayers for Reform PAC, has been a controversial figure in city politics . In January 2025, Jung voted to end the Walk on Wilshire pedestrian zone, a move criticized by some residents and covered in local media, as Bushala owns property on Wilshire Avenue and had publicly opposed the initiative .
  4. Ad Hoc Fiscal Committee and Transparency Concerns: In August 2024, Jung appointed Bushala to the Fiscal Responsibility Ad Hoc Committee. Members did not file Form 700 disclosures, and the committee advised on budget priorities presented to council on May 13, 2025, raising transparency concerns .

No criticism section per WP:CSECTION. Instead weave this info into body of article. grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 05:08, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Seeking Input on Major Local Issues

[edit]

Disclosure: I am a Fullerton resident and have previously been critical of this subject, so I want to proceed with full transparency.

I’ve recently added a “Major Local Issues” section to document high-profile policy decisions covered by regional media. I recognize many of these involve controversy or criticism, so I welcome help identifying positive or consensus-building actions that received similar coverage and could be added to help balance the article.

@Grapesurgeon: - would love your input here since you’ve contributed to this page. Elijahtheperson (talk) 16:44, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

ElijahthepersonI see you have recently made edits to this page. Given that you are working on or affiliated with Fred Jung's opponent's campaign, this is a clear conflict of interest (COI) under Wikipedia’s COI policy. Wikipedia’s policy strongly discourages anyone with a COI from directly editing the article. I am formally requesting that Elijahtheperson stop editing this article directly and instead propose any changes here on the Talk page with full disclosure of affiliation.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.185.167.169 (talk) 23:06, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
