Hello all, I have created this article after seeing it listed in Requested Articles. I believe it is notable as it is a concept that is increasingly used in discussions of health and nutrition, especially with regards to government policy, education and research.

List of things to work on (no particular order):

• general expansion and improvement based on the multitude of academic sources
• add section "Assessing food literacy", e.g. apps and questionnaires developed by various academics
• expand "Improving food literacy" section, possibly rename to "Policy"
• add section on "Other effects of low food literacy" to include effects such as food waste and food misuse
• add section "Worldwide" with sections to talk about food literacy in specific regions/countries, especially since food literacy is so context-dependent (social, cultural etc)
