Unnecessary Chinese Name template

[edit]

The template page Template:Chinese name states: "This template may be put at the top of a biographical article to explain to readers unfamiliar with Chinese names which part of a name is the family name." In other words, this template should only be used in articles of persons with names using the traditional Surname-Given Name convention (e.g. Wen Jiabao, Ma Ying-jeou). If the person's name uses a western Given Name-Surname convention (e.g. Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee), there is no such need to "explain to readers unfamiliar with Chinese names which part of a name is the family name". Therefore, I removed this template, which is unnecessary in this case. --supernorton 04:49, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Commented out paragraph

[edit]

I have commented out what was the first paragraph of the "Biography" section because of concerns about whether the cited source supports the content preceding it.

  • The cited source (Classmates.com} is titled "Flora Flora", but this article gives no indication that "Flora Flora" is another name for Flora Chan.
  • The cited source contains none of the family information that precedes the citation.
  • The cited source says that "Flora Flora" graduated from Boston University, but the commented-out text says, "She attended Boston College and earned a degree in communications."
