Hello, I am the author of the book, The Unconquered: In Search of the Amazon's Last Uncontacted Tribes (Crown Publishing, 2011). I am also the author of the August 2003 National Geographic cover story, which was entitled "Into the Amazon," though on the cover announced the main story of the issue as "Hidden Tribes of the Amazon." I want to clarify what the purpose of the expedition was, to check on the wellbeing of the Flecheiros without making contact with them and to clarify the difference between the book and the Nat Geo article. The article is now more accurate, but I have just been informed that my edits may represent a conflict of interest. thank you WallaceScottBlair (talk) 17:28, 16 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
