Information in the cast

[edit]

Coral being killed by the Barracuda would be included in the cast among other information about the characters. Is this possible?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:18D:4980:90:B19D:744E:2BCC:D341 (talk) 21:23, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Protagonist Mistake

[edit]

I believe there is one small mistake in the plot's current revision: Marlin should be mentioned first, because he is actually the film's main protagonist, not Nemo (although the latter's name is in the title) and he appears first as well.--Sstanford2 (talk) 18:42, 16 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

No, the order should be how the credits list them. Usually that is based on how powerful and established the actor is, not on anything to do with the story. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:51, 16 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Correcting Sydney "Harbor" to "Harbour"

[edit]

The place name noted as "Sydney Harbor" should be corrected to "Sydney Harbour" given it is an Australian place name (proper noun) and not an American place name.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Blurbmaust (talkcontribs) 14:32, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lawsuit

[edit]

Wasn’t there a lawsuit about the film allegedly ripping off a French children’s book?

“In 2003, French author Franck Le Calvez filed suit against Pixar and its distribution company Walt Disney Pictures, claiming that the story and the characters from his book, “Pierrot the Clownfish”, were plagiarized in the film Finding Nemo. The author and his lawyer, Pascal Kamina, demanded from Disney a share of the profits from merchandising articles sold in France. Le Calvez and Kamina lost the lawsuit on March 12, 2004 and intended to file an appeal on October 5, 2004;[2] however, to date there has been no further action taken against Pixar on the matter. On April 15th 2021, The Film Theorists made a YouTube video believing that it was actually Le Calvez who had copied Disney.”

Considering that both texts were copypasted from Pierrot the Clownfish, there and at Finding Nemo#Production. (CC) Tbhotch 03:55, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Premiere

[edit]

I’ve found online on this article https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/red-carpet-flashback-finding-nemo-133017734.html that finding Nemo seemed to premiere at the El Capitan Theatre on May 17, 2003. So can I edit the article to show that on the top of the page and release part of the page below please? DrkWebber (talk) 20:55, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oh sorry, I made a mistake, may 18th not 17th. DrkWebber (talk) 20:55, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
By "top of the page" do you mean the lead? If so, we don't typically mention where a movie premiered, in terms of the specific theater, in the lead. I don't have any opposition to mentioning it in Release section though. DonIago (talk) 21:52, 28 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
I mean at the top of the page where it says "release date". DrkWebber (talk) 16:28, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I'm guessing you mean the infobox then. Based on Template:Infobox film, I think you could add the month without any significant concerns. DonIago (talk) 16:32, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I'll add it soon. DrkWebber (talk) 16:40, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Environmental consequences section

[edit]

I've been looking into the environmental consequences of Finding Nemo and haven't found any hard evidence that there was actually an increase in the amount of wild fish taken for aquariums after the film's release. Meanwhile, there is at least one peer-reviewed scientific article which questions the supposed environmental damage. The references supporting the idea that the film was harmful to ocean life are all very old and anecdotal, quoting organizations that are obscure and some no longer exist.

I have already added the reference to the peer-reviewed journal for balance, but I'd argue that the section needs a complete clean up to reflect that this was more likely a moral panic than anything based on reality, unless someone can find better evidence to the contrary, in which case posting that evidence as references would make the section much more credible. Which fin?

[edit]

Looks like Nemo's deformity is in his pectoral fin and not pelvic fin as article states. 2601:4C0:4180:1830:C05A:5177:F72C:6BAF (talk) 22:35, 22 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Given that that info is in the plot summary, I assume it comes from the film itself but am unable to verify it for myself. DonIago (talk) 18:38, 26 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Themes of the film.

[edit]

I feel like this article needs a themes section. Finding Nemo is one of the most popular Pixar movies of all time. And there are themes in the film. It's a film about letting go of your past trauma. Marlin learns to let go of his past trauma thanks to Dory and Nemo. Nemo also learns determination from the tank fish.

Here are some sources to prove that there are themes in the film.

Fair point. I recommend submitting an edit request then. I think just mentioning this as you did without providing more specific suggestions may not end up going anywhere. DonIago (talk) 02:22, 20 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Change the word "aghast" to "impressed." This is not a correct usage of the word "aghast." Diego Tutweiller (talk) 22:36, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Partly done. Aghast might be technically correct, but it does sound weird and unusual here. I went with "wowed" instead, to help convey what was probably intended here. Deacon Vorbis (carbon  videos) 23:33, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Finding Nemo Teaser Was Attached To The Monsters Inc. Home Media Releases, Not in Theatres With Lilo & Sitich.

[edit]

Finding Nemo teaser was Actually Attached to the Monsters Inc. home media releases back in September 2002, Not in Theatres Lilo & Sitich Back in June 2002. Also I Think the Third trailer for Finding Nemo was Attached to The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Back In December 2002, Not The Jungle Book 2 Back In February 2003. I considered deleting that entire paragraph as it's unsourced, but settled for tagging it. Feel free to make updates, but if no sources are provided then the paragraph is likely to be deleted at some point. DonIago (talk) 18:54, 3 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I Think the Second trailer for Finding Nemo was still Attached to The Santa Clause 2. and the Final Trailer for the Finding Nemo was still Attached to the Piglet's Big Movie. Also Can You Fix It Please? DamianTheSonicFan2005 (talk) 07:23, 5 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
