Part three of the remakes

While looking at the article, I noticed that even though there were supposed to be three remakes, the article does not say anything about the third one, like what has been announced and stuff like that. I was wondering if someone could look into that Lemur3215 (talk) 00:35, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

They haven't really revealed much about it yet, beyond its existence and that it's in active development. We might be able to scrounge up a sentence or two, but we don't even have a name yet. Sergecross73 msg me 01:35, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

I was more wondering if we could put down the few things that have been announced and the community speculation. Because the article is not very clear whether or not the game exists yet, it seems like putting in what few things has been announced. Writer credits changed in the info box

I noticed that the credited writers in the infobox had changed recently. Previously Yoshinori Kitase and Kazushige Nojima were credited but has been changed to Hironobu Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura. This is incorrect, the games credits list Kitase and Nojima as the writers. Sakaguchi and Nomura's credits are for "based on a story by". This change was made on the 12th of May by an unregistered user and doesn't appear to have been noticed. I don't have any experience editing Wikipedia articles and have no intention of starting now so I've raised it here for someone who knows what they are doing to resolve. I am the one doing this, because the truth needs to come out on this game's development history. Although I acknowledge that this is a futile effort, as the Kitase and Nojima misinformation has basically become solidified as fact, and its unfortunate that the game's credits are also misleading. Here's the deal: Sakaguchi and Nomura wrote the first draft of the game, basically a detailed outline. The plot, characters, world, etc were basically all decided on in this outline, though of course some details were still up in the air. Then, the event planners scripted that draft, working on isolated scenes. Kitase was leading the event planners (hence his title as director), and also scripted some scenes himself. Nojima joined late in development and his role was to edit the completed script into a more cohesive whole and touch up some dialogue. I repeat: Nojima was the EDITOR for the script, not the writer. The only things he actually wrote himself are the solution to Cloud's identity crisis (the twist) and the character of Zack.

Now, understandably, you may be confused as to why the game's credits are formatted the way they are. Even though they are misleading, I do think they somewhat make sense. Kitase is listed as writer because he was leading the event team. Nojima is listed as writer because he had to look over the entire script and make adjustments. It makes sense to credit them in the way the game did, BUT it is not accurate. It would have been better if the game credited every single event planner under "story by" or just credited Kitase. Or, have "story by" credited to Sakaguchi and Nomura and have the event planning credits speak for themselves.

You're probably going to want sources on this info, but the problem is is that square enix does not want people to know this and has continued to portray Nojima as the sole scenario writer of the original ff7. They continue to lie. So whatever I do, nobody will be convinced. There's nothing I can do. And as long as this false information keeps being regurgitated, Metal Gear Solid 2 will continue to remain relevant.

Also, there's an old interview where Sakaguchi said that he let Kitase handle all of the story. He's likely saying that he let Kitase direct the event team during active development, because it makes no sense otherwise. Sakaguchi and Nomura's draft/outline was likely finished before the game entered full development (so it was written during pre-production). ~2026-31769-36 (talk) 01:45, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

Please read WP:RGW. Wikipedia is not the place to "set the record straight". You've got to find somewhere else if that's your goal. We have to stick to what reliable sources commonly verify. Sergecross73 msg me 02:23, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
