The previous version of this article appears to be a very rough translation of the entry for Felix Thomas in Dictionnaire des Orientalistes de Langue Française by François Pouillon. The translation was so rough in places, that facts were incorrect and separate events collapsed into a single event. His early education was omitted altogether. I have consulted multiple sources to try and piece together a more correct narrative of this very interesting character. I have also consulted the aforementioned Dictionary - and although my spoken French is barely passable, I can read the language well enough. For the more technical terms, I also consult an online translation service and wherever possible try to cross-validate major events in multiple sources where at least one is in my native language.
