I don't see how this could possibly be labeled as anything less that high-level importance for the United States. Together with Little Boy, it changed the course of history. How can it be judged high-level for Japan and engineering but only mid-level for the country that engineered it and dropped it on Japan, thus making the US victorious after a grueling global war? I a signed up to Quora, and get questions like: Which is harder, AP physics or AP calculus? Sounds fine, but there is no scale to measure how hard a class is. And especially not one that can compare different subjects. Similarly, there is no scale to measure importance of things like bombs. (Is it the bomb itself, or its use that is being specified?) Is Fat Man of more importance than the Golden Gate Bridge? But okay, the bridge was built 8 years earlier, so maybe that makes it harder to compare. The Lowell Bridge was finished in 1945, though is less well known, but maybe more important to those that live nearby? In what way is a bomb important? That needs to be known before comparing importance! Gah4 (talk) 04:10, 18 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, I see it now. I appreciate your kind help.
I'm baffled at how editors can rate it as only of mid-level importance, though, since Fat Man was "extremely important, even crucial, to its specific field. Reserved for subjects that have achieved international notability within their field." The specific field is Nuclear weapon. That argument is for the other page, but looking at the backlog, I despair of it receiving attention any time soon. YoPienso (talk) 12:29, 19 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
