refs shouldn't be added to talk pages

[edit]

Can anybody explain to a Kazakh wikipedia moderator what FIFA is not an "International federation of football associationS". He translates it like that and changes it back if corrected

Add a Section on Criticism of FIFA

[edit]

Considering the corruption and well documented bloat where money spent to grow the sport is largely used to buy luxuries for certain members of FIFA and FIFA-affiliated organizations, I would like to see a section discussing the public criticism of the organization. People need to know that not all is right within the organization of self-anointed guardians of world soccer (association football). -- Srwalden (talk) 04:30, 9 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

There are at least two sides to every story, Srwalden. Always keep that in mind. 69.118.244.151 (talk) 14:56, 11 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

FIFA and Double Standards

[edit]

We should add corruption for being complicit with Israel. They banned Russia but bot Israel over genocide. 81.56.143.11 (talk) 16:47, 8 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Please change "Sven Golly" to "Sven Goly" in the eSports section (2024 Football Manager 2024). It is a typo of the player's name. See: https://www.kicker.de/der-klappstuhl-kaiser-sven-svonn-goly-1065359/artikel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_Manager ~2026-38808-43 (talk) 08:41, 8 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Controversies section and notices

[edit]

Hi all - please do not start flaming, or arguing or edit warring.
I have just removed one of the notices, as I feel it itself is UNDUE. Plus, there is already an UNDUE notice at the top of the page.
"The last paragraph on the 2026 World Cup incident makes up 5% of the whole article - this could be condensed or split out to separate article"
The first part of that would be undue weight if it were not supported by thousands of refs, and the controversies were not more than 5% of FIFA going on. I suspect it is about right.
The second part should have been on the talk page, for discussion. If someone is going to insist on putting another notice back on, make sure that is not included. It is basically advertising an opinion.
Whomever put the note there also said "discussion on the talk page" but they did not start one, and there is not one. Well, there is now I guess. Chaosdruid (talk) 16:50, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
