Is the exact site of an Expo

[edit]

(its coordinates and extent on the map) exactly determined at time of award, or does the BIE leave room for interpretation?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:C23:7182:600:C02B:A145:2927:1231 (talk) 14:12, 6 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Should mascots and/or theme songs be included in this article?

[edit]

In the Expo 2005 page, there is a category for Mascots and Theme songs. The Mascot for Expo 2025 is Myaku-Myaku a shape shifting, water based cell who divides to shape shift. Kono Hoshi no Tsuzuki wo is the theme song of the expo. KyrbsMcWyrbs (talk) 20:53, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Future tense no longer applies

The event has already begun. 2A04:CEC0:1092:AF86:B96F:9476:C1F4:1E55 (talk) 21:46, 12 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Indeed. Someone needs to update it as quickly as possible. Güiseppi669 (talk) 19:21, 15 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Reception section needed

[edit]

Expo 2025 has been criticized within Japan for its high cost and questionable appeal to the public. The Grand Ring has been praised as an architectural marvel, and many commentators have offered opinions about the site and pavilion designs. The expo has a 1.9/5 star review on Tripadvisor, with many attendees complaining about high prices, convoluted reservation systems, uncomfortable options for sitting during the day, and many other complaints; these have been reported on in the press. This article should have a "reception" or "criticism" section to include reactions from experts and attendees. White 720 (talk) 15:38, 27 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Agree that there should be acknowledgement of the critical reception noted on online review sites and social media, especially around overcrowding, long lines, and summer heat. Slothbear09 (talk) 03:31, 18 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Page protection

[edit]

@Less Unless: I'm not sure how to go about reverting the recent disruptive ip edits (page protection landed after the latest ip edit and essentially locked them in). (Nb. Protection of the related article, Expo 2025 pavilions, worked as expected.) -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 10:29, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
