Dear Wikipedia editors,

My name is Alix Swaels, and I work as a Communication Adviser for ENTSOG (the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas). In line with Wikipedia’s conflict‑of‑interest guidelines, I would like to transparently disclose my professional connection to the organisation.

We are reaching out to propose a set of factual, source‑based updates to the ENTSOG Wikipedia article, with the aim of ensuring that it accurately reflects ENTSOG’s current mandate, governance, and activities as defined in European Union legislation. The intention is not promotional, but to maintain the article’s accuracy, neutrality, and relevance.

Respecting the encyclopaedic, the proposed revisions would include:

• Updating the introductory description to better reflect ENTSOG’s role as a European non‑profit association representing gas transmission system operators, in line with EU legislation.

• Updating factual governance information, including the current President.

• Revising and restructuring the “Activities” section to reflect ENTSOG’s legally mandated tasks (such as network codes, EU‑wide network planning, transparency obligations, outlooks and reviews), using neutral and encyclopaedic language.

• Adding concise legislative context framework established the EU that justify ENTSOG's work and existence such as the Hydrogen and Decarbonised Gas Market Package adopted in 2024, revised TEN-E regulation in 2022, Security of supply directive in 2017, etc.

• Updating references to rely on publicly available, independent sources, including EU regulations and directives, ACER documents, and official EU institutional pages.

• Making limited adjustments to the “See also” and “References” sections to reflect relevant institutional and legal links.

In accordance with Wikipedia’s editorial process, we would propose to post the detailed draft text and full inline citations on the article’s Talk page, and we fully defer to independent editors’ judgment regarding whether and how any changes should be implemented.
