Special Unit 2

[edit]

Despite the fact that some online sources like Soap Opera Digest credit Slezak with a role on the show, I just watched a clip of the episode on YouTube and it is definitely not Slezak in the role. I've removed the info from this article. — TAnthonyTalk 15:42, 31 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Clarification of Erika Slezak's Daytime Emmy record

[edit]

I would like to suggest a clarification to the Awards section regarding Erika Slezak's Daytime Emmy record. The article currently states that Slezak won six Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, but the historical significance of that record could be stated more precisely.

Suggested wording:

Slezak holds the record for the most wins in the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, winning six times for her portrayal of Victoria Lord on One Life to Live. By her fifth win in 1996, she became the first performer to win the category five times, and she extended the record to six wins in 2005.

Contemporary reporting supports this distinction. The Hollywood Reporter, as published by The Spokesman-Review on May 24, 1996, reported that Slezak became the first performer to win five times in the Lead Actress category and listed her previous wins in 1984, 1986, 1992 and 1995. CBS News reported after the 2005 Daytime Emmys that Slezak won her record sixth best-actress Emmy.
