Review coming tonight. Crystal Drawers 🎖️ (wanna talk?) 15:57, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Crystal Drawers Hey, any luck? Vanderwaalforces (talk) 15:08, 24 April 2026 (UTC)

Lead
[edit]- By my count, four sentences in the Lead start with some form of his/he, could one or (preferably) two of these be changed to avoid repetition?
- oh thanks, fixed.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:24, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- "He died c. 1750" — Why is c. still linked to circa here if it was already explained in the first use of it? Also, the second use a few sentences back doesn’t have the circa note thing, which is why I’m a bit confused
- It’s the circa template, thats how it works for multiple entries, the immediate second is usually not going to be linked.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:24, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- "He died c. 1750 and was succeeded by his son Ogiomo who was later known as Oba Akengbuda" — A bit long and wordy, could you add a comma somewhere? I’d recommend either after "c. 1750" or after "son Ogiomo"
- Fixed.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:24, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
Early life and accession
[edit]- Could you link some of the words, like "chief"? I know it’s pretty basic, but our goal with GAs is to make them as accessible as possible to non-experts, and leaving words there with no definition or wikilink doesn’t fit under that goal. This also applies to the rest of the article, where some words are said without being defined or linked, so could you go back and check this?
- I tried working this out while avoiding WP:OLINK.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:38, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Prose seems fine
Reign
[edit]- I think you should put the note for Ezomo directly after the word the word is used
- Fixed.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:48, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Why are two different pictures of a brass leopard used? One is fine
- Fixed.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:48, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- "Eresoyen reformed royal marriage customs, ending the practice of princesses residing in Ulegun for suitors.[d][2][15] Instead, marriages were arranged directly with chiefs and citizens" — These are two short sentences, could you combine these into one?
- Fixed.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:48, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- "Princess Akesogie's case reflected royal involvement in elite discipline" — I’m a little confused by what this means
- Must’ve been an oversight, removed since I don't need that there at all.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:48, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
Personal life and family
[edit]- Wouldn’t the stuff about his son from Early life and ascension fit better here?
- In comparison with the other king series I’ve written? It seems unlikely.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:52, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Well, I think the bit about his son is better there, so I moved it. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:55, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- No prose issues
Death and legacy
[edit]- "His reign is remembered in oral traditions and scholarship as a period of restored royal authority and cultural development in Benin" — Can you expand a bit more on this? I’m sure the sources talk a little more in depth about this, and I’d appreciate at least another sentence or two just going into some of these
- Nothing, actually. It will more or less be repeating what I already discussed in the sections preceding this one.--Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:57, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Crystal Drawers Thank you so much, I tended to your queries above. Kindly take a look. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:58, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Checked roughly 47% of sources, all came back clean. Good to go, congrats on the
