Too technical?

Someone has added a notice that "This article may be too technical for a general audience." I see nothing technical about it. What precisely is "too technical"? - Jmabel | Talk 06:13, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

The entr'acte music from Kingdom of Heaven is only in the roadshow form of the director's cut.

As the article already states, Kingdom of Heaven includes an entr'acte involving a musical piece composed by Harry Gregson-Williams, called Wall Breached. But, technically, that entr'acte and its music is not in two of the primary versions of Kingdom of Heaven. it is neither in the theatrical cut nor the director's cut. The entr'acte only refers to the roadshow cut of this movie.

The roadshow cut is Director Ridley Scott's version based on his director's cut, but includes also several features of a roadshow presentation. One of those features is the entr'acte involving Gregson-Williams' Wall Breached piece of orchestral music for the soundtrack. While the compact disc did include that piece of entr'acte music, neither that entr'acte nor its music were present in the context of any movie versions upon Kingdom of Heaven's initial theatrical release.

Today, the entr'acte is still excluded from two of the three cuts of the movie in wide distribution in video editions at least. The entr'acte is excluded from the original theatrical release cut of the movie and the director's cut, as stated already. However, the director's cut and the roadshow cut uses the one director's cut as their basis. The only differences otherwise, or the differences at least, refer to the addition of an overture music before the director's cut begins, the addition of an intermission, and the addition of the Wall Breached entr'acte music. Although the roadshow cut and the director's cut are based on the director's cut, that entr'acte and its music are missing from the director's cut, unless it is the roadshow version of the director's cut.

Therefore, the article would be better by stating which of the three versions of the movie would contain the entr'acte to which the article refers. Because, the entr'acte technically is missing without signalling which version to watch. The Ultra HD 4K disc that released about a year or two ago allows a director's cut and a roadshow cut, despite that the front of the box in which the disc comes only declares that the set includes the director's cut of the movie. In order to view the entr'acte, one watching that disc contents would need to specifically select the roadshow version of the director's cut. Because, without doing so, the entr'acte does not appear.

No. Kingdom of Heaven does not include an entr'acte--unless we are discussing a specific cut or version that includes it. So, the article is wrong without such specification. Arthurblenheim (talk) 05:55, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
