Other types & styles

[edit source]

Should we specify the other types and style’s including growing hyper local types.ChefBear01 (talk) 15:44, 16 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

To clarify I mean having two sections in the types part of the table one for the main types and then another for the other/hyper-local types.ChefBear01 (talk) 19:20, 16 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Merge in proposal to meet B Class

[edit source]

@Bearcat:, I am wondering whether the English whisky distilleries, brands & independent bottlers articles should be merged to create a single cohesive article and whether this could help towards moving the article towards a b-class.

my concern is whether this would create an overly burdened article (too long and therefore difficult for a reader to follow) that would end up getting split again meaning that this would not be right the path to follow.

I would appreciate any advice from yourself or any other users.ChefBear01 (talk) 19:46, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

To clarify overly burdened I mean WP:LENGTH.ChefBear01 (talk) 20:00, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Rodw: please could you provide some advice for the above. I also need someone to skim over the article to check tone and article structure please. I would really appreciate your help.ChefBear01 (talk) ChefBear01 (talk) 19:55, 28 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I need to check it meets WP:MOS, WP:EMBEDDED and WP:TONE ChefBear01 (talk) 20:08, 28 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Kepler-1229b: do you have any advice to me the above policies. Is the tone and structure improved and closer to will policy.ChefBear01 (talk) 19:43, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@ChefBear01 Section headings could be improved and from a basic skim the article could do with some copyediting. I've already done a few basic fixes to the article. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 19:56, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Kepler-1229b:, is there any way to bring the characteristics section into prose with creating issues with structure? (Short paragraphs).ChefBear01 (talk) 20:29, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sorry I meant attributes.ChefBear01 (talk) ChefBear01 (talk) 20:33, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@ChefBear01 the table could be converted into paragraphs with sections corresponding to the headers in the table denoting each type. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 20:46, 3 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
How does the section look now?.ChefBear01 (talk) 19:09, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
How can I improve the section headings?, Do they need to be shorten?, does the wording need to be fixed?ChefBear01 (talk) 19:13, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
@ChefBear01 Responding to your concern about the section; it looks good. The section names such as "Legal and guidance" and "Economic" could be improved for grammar or wording. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 20:17, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also if you don't know how to improve your prose, you can always ask the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors for help in copyediting the article. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 20:18, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you.ChefBear01 (talk) 21:12, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Fixes look good. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 21:28, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Editors from the Guild I believe alongside yourself have done copy editing on the article which I hugely appreciate as it look much better and meets the wiki policies mentioned in peer review and generally. Should I look at putting the article forward for a B class nomination and then peer review to both set a point where editors can look to where the article meets B criteria and to provide help to see what is needed to meet GA?ChefBear01 (talk) ChefBear01 (talk) 15:59, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I believe a peer review can serve as the basis for a promotion to B class if I am correct. You should open up a peer review to get feedback on improvements to the article. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 21:14, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

A peer review is open here. I am unsure what the topic selection has lead to an archive page.ChefBear01 (talk) 14:18, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I've listed this article for peer review because I would like to get feedback on how to improve the article to reach B and then GA Class

Thanks, ChefBear01 (talk) 14:09, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don’t know why the link to select a topic leads to an archive page ChefBear01 (talk) 14:11, 7 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
