Power engineering and Energy engineering

[edit]

There is a small problem of translation from English to other languages and the reverse, the therm of "Power engineering[" being, confused with Energy engineering and vice-versa, mainly because of misinterpreting the actual meaning. --TudorTulok (talk) 18:07, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Power engineering is a subfield of energy engineering (and also of electrical engineering), so that should be no correspondence problems to other languages.--79.116.78.119 (talk) 18:45, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Media files?

[edit]

Can anyone please provide some media files like images and videos related to energy engineering? They would be helpful to improve this article. Right now, it has only text. --EngineeringGuy (talk) 20:21, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Energy engineering is going to be a huge and influential field and undergraduate major in the future. I think that expanding this article should receive more attention and greater priority than it is currently getting.

Notable energy engineers

[edit]

To Cgoodwind and any others watching this page. I am going to remove the section Energy engineering#Notable energy engineers unless I hear a strong rationale to keep it. The choice of who is on it can only be WP:OR, and certainly not WP:NPOV. What about pioneers of nuclear power plants, batteries, windmills etc, the list could go forever. Note that most of the names have been added by IP users. Ldm1954 (talk) 12:37, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Pinging @Nd902309376 and @Asea24 pro forma. Ldm1954 (talk) 12:39, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ldm1954, thank you for the feedback. I agree that selecting specific individuals in the Notable energy engineers section could create bias and doesn’t align well with Wikipedia’s neutrality and original research guidelines. To address this, I support removing the section to avoid subjective choices. Thanks again for helping improve the article. Cgoodwind (talk) 04:26, 4 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dubious article

[edit]

This article is heavily WP:SYNTH with some WP:OR. Most of the material is already part of other topics, but this page implies that it is something new and independent. Ldm1954 (talk) 15:06, 11 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Likely AI-generated edits

[edit]

Hi -- I added the AI generated template regarding the edits by Cgoodwind such as this; they display many indicators of LLM use, with issues such as the ones mentioned above, and thus need extensive review for facts, synthesis, etc. and possibly just WP:TNT. Gnomingstuff (talk) 13:56, 9 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This was a WikiEd page, and like too many of them there was no quality control from the supervisor. Perhaps AfD? If someone wants to WP:HEY it to a real article that would be OK with me. Ldm1954 (talk) 17:04, 9 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
