"Controversy" over Mark Angel relationship

I do not think it is a controversy. In many places, especially in east Africa, as well as elsewhere (Korea for example), older men are called "uncle", similar to how in some countries any older woman is called "Auntie" (sometimes derisively, the way a Westerner might call an older woman "Grandma" derisively). The fact that Emmanuella (and Success Madabuike) calls Mark and other men on the project "Uncle" does not mean a biological relationship. Emanuella is from Imo State in eastern Nigeria. She was born in Port Harcourt in Rivers State.^[1] There is confusion on her relationship with Mark Angel, as it has been said in different circles that she is his niece and some say they are cousins. Eze Chidinma of Buzz Nigeria in an article stated that Emmanuella is niece to Angel.^[2] Pulse Nigeria also stated that Angel is an uncle to Emmanuella.^[3] On the other hand, George Ibenegbu of Legit.ng stated that both are cousins.^[4] Rachael Odusanya in a later publication on legit.ng stated that they are not related.^[1]

In July 2022, Ned Nwoko denied proposing marriage to Emmanuella, saying, "I have beautiful wives".^[5] Ohuoba praise (talk) 14:10, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
