Article says "11,427 square feet of space, now houses up to 2,400 male prisoners."... so they have less than 5 square feet each? I know prisons are crowded but that seems impossible. 208.180.234.173 (talk) 20:14, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Notable prisoner lists

Notable prisoner lists (these lists include people who qualify for a Wikipedia article ) are common in articles about prisons, just like Wikipedia-notable residents of cities are posted in the said articles, etc. Some of the most prominent prisons like ADX Florence (see List of current inmates at ADX Florence and List of former inmates at ADX Florence) and San Quentin Rehabilitation Center have these lists.

There is another discussion at Talk:Atlantic_Institution#List_of_Residents where a user removed a notable prisoner list, and other users objected as it was a longstanding practice.

If these lists violate a NOT, I think it would be good to have a Wikipedia-wide discussion. However Wikipedia:WikiProject_Correction_and_Detention_Facilities is inactive, so I'm not quite sure where the discussion should be held. Maybe a village pump? WhisperToMe (talk) 04:24, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
