Too American centric
[edit]The name aubergine is much older than eggplant, so the article needs to reflect this. The name aubergine should be considered the "correct" term, and therefore the page title, and eggplant as an alternative name that is much more recent, which redirects to aubergine. ~2025-38376-76 (talk) 12:41, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- If you look at the very top of this page, ~2025-38376-76, you'll see a box which says that the article is written in American English; this explains why it is called "Eggplant" not your "correct" aubergine ~ at some point either the first major editor of the article used the former, or a discussion found that the latter is less common than the former. Whatever the reason, however correct Aubergine would be, we're not at all likely to change it; hope this isn't discouraging but, rather, encourages you to contribute to the project ~ LindsayHello 15:50, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
