American Civil War surgeon

Although a doctor by training, the article says he served as a line officer, not a surgeon in the Civil War. Therefore, "Category:American Civil War surgeons" was removed from the article until a reference about serving as a surgeon is added. semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 12:47, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Actions in Georgia

I rewrote the final paragraph in the Civil War service as two paragraphs to more accurately capture what the cited sources actually say. One of the sources, Casstevens, seems to have a neo-Confederate bias. I added the footnote to address this in the article. The prior text reeked of that bias and had a lot of uncited text.Boo Boo (talk) 02:27, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
