2025 Overhaul

[edit]

This article was rated as Start class when I found it. I upgraded it to a C before I started editing. The version I encountered had 68 citations in a wide variety of formats. Most of the citations were duplicates that were invoked multiple times in the same paragraph, sometimes even in the same sentence. This is a bizarrely common error on Wikipedia.

The article was also shambolic, and it had several tables devoted to White's repertoire. Given the range of her life and career, the tables were out of place and disorienting. The chief deficits of the article remain its reliance on self-published sources. Susan Fleet's book is very slim but highly informative and well-sourced. She cites plenty of reliable sources that would be good additions to this article.

White's trailblazing brass ensembles could use some additional context, along the lines of the comparison with Ghitalla in the Legacy section.Trumpetrep (talk) 04:24, 17 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
