Coming Edits

[edit]

In the next few weeks I will be strengthening this article in a few different ways, beginning with the history section. I find this section to be very vague and intend on adding a lot more information that I have heavily researched. This will allow more information on the history of East Mani to be easily accessible, as well as give insight to the other sections of the article that I plan to add. In addition to strengthening the history section, I want to add a culture portion of the article that would explain more details about the communities of East Mani, as well as architecture, and common practices. This provides broader information and strengthens the article as a whole. Finally, I intend to add a Current Events section to the article, which will help bring awareness to the impacts and battles faced by East Mani following the wildfires that occurred recently. Including this, as well as other information about more current information will allow the article to be less outdated and more credible. I have assembled a solid list of sources that will facilitate my contributions to this article. Anastasia.barr (talk) 03:26, 20 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Propose shortening East Mani; see Mani Peninsula and West Mani

[edit]

This article's subject is the municipality (an administrative subdivision of Greece) of East Mani, created in 2011, like its counterpart West Mani. Both occupy the Mani Peninsula, a region with a human history going back to prehistoric times, and its own scientific (geo-, eco-, etc) descriptors and importance in Greek history. While "West Mani" article is short, appropriate for an administrative unit created in 2011, the "East Mani" article is not, and more importantly repeats much of the same information as the "Peninsula" article. I propose editing East Mani to more closely resemble West Mani, and consolidating all sources into "Mani Peninsula", little of which will actually need to be re-written, thus eliminating redundancy. Disambiguation template should be added to all.
