Superfluous text
[edit]This entire page reads like a very long press release from EMV, rather than a Wikipedia article about EMV.
The history of mechanical card terminals, magnetic strips, Card Not Present transactions, etc don't strike me as being relevant to EMV. If this information is salient, it should probably live elsewhere (e.g. a history of payment cards page).
The phrase "EMV stands for Europay, ..." is repeated three times throughout the text - twice with links, once without. Nimlhûg (talk) 08:38, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
