Standard of English

Many countries?

"Even though the column did not stop to liberate as much countries as other columns, due to its size, it created the majority of the libertarian communes"

Weil connection

Hi, I feel that there should be some mention of Simone Weil's participation in the Durruti Column somewhere in the article. While her time with the group lasted only a few weeks, Weil is a very notable figure in history and philosophy and should be mentioned. She's only mentioned once in passing as an eyewitness - it should be made clear that she was an actual member of the column.

A user suggested a list of known members - perhaps that would be useful? Apextrancelike (talk) 22:30, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

@Apextrancelike: The issue with going out of our way to mention Weil is, as you say, that she did not spend very much time in the column and (as far as I'm aware) was not actually involved in any of the fighting. Her general notability as an individual does not necessarily make her so important to an article about a military group that consisted of thousands. Right now, I am working on an article draft about the Column's International Group that will hopefully better contextualise Weil's limited involvement in the Column. --Grnrchst (talk) 23:15, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
