Future title
[edit]Currently, we don't know whether the third film (which hasn't even been officially confirmed yet) will be titled Dune Messiah, Dune: Part Three, or something else. If it is the former, we should pay close attention to whether the official title includes a colon; if there is, we can simply move this to Dune: Messiah — without additional parenthetical disambiguation — per WP:SMALLDETAILS, and then add a hatnote to the novel's article. (Though I anticipate it will likely be sent to RM eventually.) InfiniteNexus (talk) 19:20, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
Release date
[edit]The Digital Spy article says that the film would be released on December 18, 2026.[1] The Media Expert (talk) 19:35, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- While Warner Bros. has scheduled a film from Villeneuve on that date, it has not been officially confirmed to be for this film, and that article is referring to an IMAX presentation from last year that later had the information removed, so it is not enough to go off of as definitively confirmed. While it is very likely this film will be released on that date, best to wait for a more formal confirmation. Trailblazer101 (talk) 19:39, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

Proposal: Change the name to Untitled Dune film and change the release date
[edit]Pretty much that, the offical account of the Dune franchise refer to it as the third film in the Dune franchise, there's a good chance the film doesn't have a title yet. Nils2088 (talk) 00:34, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter what the official social media accounts say when we have a reliable source in Variety confirming the title and TheWrap confirming the release date. Wikipedia goes by verifiability first and foremost, not by just what the companies want us to call something. — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 00:36, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
Anya Taylor-Joy
[edit]Anya Taylor-Joy isn't listed, is there no news, since the preceding film had her cast -- 65.93.183.181 (talk) 20:01, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
- There are no sources presently confirming her involvement in this film. — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 21:10, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
Duncan Idaho or Hayt?
[edit]Should Jason Mamoa not be listed as Hayt instead? 49.195.41.80 (talk) 00:49, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
- Sources have been calling the character Duncan, which may not be correct but no press or studio announcements for the film have specified if this element matches the book (Hayt) or not.— TAnthonyTalk 01:27, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
Timothée Chalamet confirms 'Dune: Part 3' time jump: 'I'm playing 15, 20 years older'
[edit]https://www.thewrap.com/timothee-chalamet-confirms-dune-part-3-time-jump/ Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0vdRgHe-OY
What this means is that Part 3 is going to cover both Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. See Quinn's analysis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNUQNp2KL2M This implies we will see Leto II in his final form, and the unintended jihad throughout the galaxy. Very exciting; extremely fascinating implications.
As I am not really a Wikipedian I'm not entirely sure how to fold all this into the article, and ask those who are to please do so. ~2025-42139-69 (talk) 07:13, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
- Well, self-published YouTube videos aren't really considered to be usable as sources for Wikipedia (see WP:RSPYT in that regard), so such speculations about the film also covering Children of Dune can't be included. Any mention of time jumps in the film will end up being incorporated into the article plot summary section, when that eventually gets added post-premiere. — Jamie Eilat (talk) 07:44, 21 December 2025 (UTC)
