Unitary Representations are equivalent to their duals.

[edit]

Can someone help me locate the source of the claim that a unitary rep is equivalent to its dual rep? Thank you. 69.124.52.230 04:08, 11 August 2007 (UTC)AlexReply

[edit]

I removed the "conjugate inverse" version for complex vector spaces. The transpose is intended for complex vector spaces as well, as is emphasized in every textbook. I also removed the false claim that a unitary representation is equivalent to its dual. A counterexample is SL(3, C) for which an (m, n)-representation is equivalent to its dual if and only if m = n.
