Factual and outdated-information updates

[edit]

Thank you to the editors who have contributed to this article over time. I work for Drosos Foundation and am proposing factual updates because parts of the article are outdated. Because of my conflict of interest, I am suggesting changes here for independent review.

Information box

1)      Logo

Proposed change:

The foundation has updated its visual identity and logo. The current logo on the article appears outdated.

2)     CEO

Current wording:

“Dr Richard Brogle”

Proposed change:

This information appears outdated. According to publicly available information, Richard Brogle stepped down as CEO in 2020.

3)     Board / governance information

Current wording:

“Chairman: Lic. Markus E. Kronauer

Vice-Chairman: Dr. Frank Schnewlin

Members:

Dr. Stefan Kraft

Lic. Edith Kreis-Kolb

Dr. Franz von Däniken”

Proposed change:

This governance information appears outdated and may no longer reflect the current structure of the foundation.

It may be preferable to either remove the detailed board list from the information box, or to replace it with a brief and current governance description supported by updated sources.

Introductory paragraph

Current wording:

"The foundation is committed to fighting poverty, promoting health and nutrition, increasing access to education and creative activities for youth, and supporting climate and environmental protection."

Proposed change:

This sentence appears somewhat outdated and may no longer fully reflect the foundation’s current focus areas. According to recent public information, the foundation currently supports locally led initiatives focused on skills development, entrepreneurship, and the social and economic inclusion of young people.

Possible replacement wording:

"The foundation supports locally led initiatives focused on skills development, entrepreneurship, and the social inclusion of young people."

History section

Current wording:

“The Foundation Board consists of Markus E. Kronauer, Edith Kolb, Hans-Rudolf Castell, Toni Stadler and Barbara Grünewald, and is responsible for the strategic direction and all important decisions. The delegate of the Foundation Board is Franz von Däniken, who resigned from his position as State Secretary in the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in February 2005 to devote himself to setting up the foundation. The foundation’s office manages operational matters, including the review of project proposals.”

Proposed change:

These passages contain historical governance and operational details that appear to be outdated and may no longer reflect the foundation’s current structure. Since this information relates more to governance than to the foundation’s history, it may be preferable either to remove these sentences or replace them with a brief and current description of the organisation’s governance structure.

The first sentence regarding the establishment of the foundation could remain unchanged.

Projects section

Proposed change:

This section appears to focus heavily on a small number of historical projects and may no longer fully reflect the foundation’s current thematic and geographic scope.

Some of the listed countries also appear outdated compared to the foundation’s current areas of operation.

It may therefore be preferable to:

·        shorten the detailed project descriptions,

·        retain only concise examples,

·        and update the geographic information based on current public sources.

Possible updated wording for the introductory sentence:

“The foundation supports initiatives in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.”

See also section

Proposed change:

The current “See also” section contains only a single project reference and a general Switzerland portal link. Since the linked project represents only one historical initiative among many, it may be preferable either:

·        to remove the section entirely, or

·        to replace it with links that are more directly connected to the foundation’s overall scope and current activities.
