IAC

It's unclear what IAC's role in the platform was - the current page lists them as a former co-owner and mentions them "dropping" the platform, but has no further explanation of the financial and practical implications. Adding at least something like "co-founded with IAC", "receiving funding from IAC", "partnered with IAC", or "acquired by IAC" would be helpful if anyone has that info. In today's sneak preview of Nobody Asked, if my eyeballing is correct the current shows' episodes range between:

• Breaking News: 03:19 to 12:58; latest season currently 07:27 to 11:56
• D20: 1:07:53 to 3:09:53; latest season 1:32:41 to 3:09:53
• UA: 19:12 to 41:02 -- 53:13 for S2 LIVE! and not counting the CH shorts; latest season currently 28:36 to 41:02
• GC: 12:20 to 59:37; latest season currently 33:35 to 43:12 (I'd be unsurprised if a finale one went longer)
• Adventuring Party: 13:05 to 1:45:51 -- 4:07:54 for the s1e9 BLM special; 1:59:39 for the s3e17 Crew Edition; latest season 17:13 to 34:07
• DL: 30:38 to 48:18; latest season 41:37 to 48:18

Page name

Would it not make more sense for the page to be named Dropout (streaming service)? CollegeHumor seems to be the page for the actual company. – OdinintheNorth (talk) 15:00, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

That's complicated by the fact that the company now goes by Dropout as well. There was previously discussion over at that article's talk page, and the general consensus was to limit that article to content and history from before the buyout, and make this article focused on everything after. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:55, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

Never Stop Blowing Up

Never Stop Blowing Up is the name of the current season of Dimension 20 (similar to how American Horror Story gives its various seasons specific names instead of just numbers) and the show is listed in that section. Sariel Xilo (talk) 20:29, 22 July 2024 (UTC)

"Unknown" vs "Ended" status

I think we need to set some sort of internal guideline to determine when we move a show from "current" to "former". For example, it's been almost a year and a half since the last episode of Play It By Ear; is that long enough to say it's not coming back? Granted, a gap like this doesn't guarantee the show is over (see the 1 year 3 month gap between Adventuring Academy S4 and S5), but I do think since Dropout doesn't tend to announce cancellations, we should probably figure out how much time needs to pass before we finally "call it". -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:05, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

I feel like if we're having to make judgements about this it's probably not a delineation we should be making. What if we just had all the shows in one table sorted by the date of their most recent season or something? Sam Walton (talk) 12:26, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

Resurrecting this (@Cyberlink420, @Samwalton9). Dropout doesn't really cancel shows in the post-2019 era, they just don't produce more. We could skip editor judgement by only listing those shows which we can cite as current or upcoming in that section, and have the other section (maybe "Other" instead of "Former") note that this may include shows with unannounced forthcoming seasons, and default reverse sort in order of end date. ^~Hydronium^~Hydroxide^~(Talk)~ 02:26, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

That makes sense to me, as Sam Walton said, if there's no way to verify a difference between a cancelled show and one that hasn't been renewed, we shouldn't be making that judgement call. – OdinintheNorth (talk) 15:20, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

Television or Web Series?

Not quite sure where to ask this question, but on some pages, Dropout is a web series and on other pages its television. Just wanting to keep it consistent OdessaOdessa (talk) 12:33, 16 October 2025 (UTC)

I've encountered the same thing, but haven't found anything definitive in MOS:TV.

I've always gone with TV series if it's episodic and on a dedicated streaming platform (like Disney+, Netflix, Prime and Dropout), and then web series for anything released on generic platforms (like YouTube or Vimeo etc).

But I can understand why people would put them as web series, and if an article says web series already I won't change it. Nil🥝 19:47, 26 October 2025 (UTC)

That's a good metric. I would suggest moving them all to television, but Dropout muddies the water a bit by also releasing their premium stuff on YouTube as members only videos. I'll leave it as it is :) OdessaOdessa (talk) 08:14, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
