If you mean the sentence

"In the English name "doner kebab", the word doner is borrowed from the Turkish döner kebap..."

Then a simple fix might be

Error in Australia section

This section says "It was traditionally served in a styrofoam container (although it has since shifted to cardboard due to Australia's ban on environmentally friendly materials)". It should read "ban on non-environmentally friendly materials", surely? Also the sources provided do not mention the shift to cardboard. Bobbytoppers (talk) 00:07, 7 July 2026 (UTC)

Proposal to resolve chronological contradiction in the Lead/History sections

Currently, the article contradicts itself regarding the origin of the sandwich form.

   Paragraph 2 claims: "The modern sandwich variant of doner kebab originated and was popularized in 1970s West Berlin..."

   Paragraph 6 claims: "It has been sold in sandwich form in Istanbul since at least the mid-1960s." and "The first doner kebab shop in London opened in 1966."

A dish cannot originate in 1972 Berlin if it was already being sold in Istanbul and London in the 1960s. To fix this chronological error, I propose changing the wording for the Berlin section from "originated" to "was adapted".

Proposed text change: "While the sandwich form existed in Istanbul and London by the 1960s, a heavily adapted, heavily garnished version of the doner sandwich was popularized in 1970s West Berlin by Turkish immigrants. This specific variation..."
