Why Metuchen?

I think that it might be helpful if the article included an explanation why they decided to put the diocese in Metuchen, rather than, say, New Brunswick (which is where the local transportation networks lead and is already an administrative center), Perth Amboy (which even then was a significant center of Catholic life what with its big Puerto Rican community), or Somerville (which would be relatively central geographically). Metuchen is a nice town and all but it doesn't really stand out as a particularly suitable place for a cathedral. Lockesdonkey (talk) 04:10, 8 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
