Disaster

This article is a disaster. It starts out describing thrust faulting that isn't faulting, uses "strain" to discuss forces, and I don't have time to correct it, but a lot of text should be removed and the article left bare bones with just a dictionary definition until it can be fixed by someone. -68.107.137.178 (talk) 02:31, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

I've reworded the text in the lead section to hopefully clarify how a detachment fold develops above a decollement surface. I've also provided urls for all the sources used in the article, which I hope will make it easier for others to understand it. Now that I can look at all the relevant sources, I intend to rewrite some parts, which I'll discuss below. Mikenorton (talk) 17:41, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

Extensional detachment folds
