The result was: promoted by AirshipJungleman29 talk 11:49, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Created by Scanlan (talk). Number of QPQs required: 1. Nominator has 42 past nominations.

The ALT1 hook is DYKINT in my view. No point in linking to "Night" (per MOS:OL). -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 10:25, 14 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
  • New enough, long enough, QPQ done, no copyvio found. ALT1 is a great improvement on ALT0. The fact is sourced to government websites, so I looked at them with some caution but I don't see any particular issues. ALT1. CMD (talk) 03:36, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Even with the secondary link to [[night]]? This seems like a mistake (again, I agree that the hook is good, just find this link odd). -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 05:32, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
With or without the secondary link. I found it helpful to reassure me this was not a double entendre of some kind, but if a promoter feels otherwise or if removal helps the set I have no issue with that. CMD (talk) 06:14, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
I prefer it without the secondary link, but agree that this is good to go (either way). -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 06:40, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis: AGF approval is deprecated.--Launchballer 09:14, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Don't remember there being consensus for that, but a promoter can take it as whatever approval works for when a reviewer uses some machine translation. CMD (talk) 10:56, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Chipmunkdavis: It's actually in the rules in WP:DYKCITE (my emphasis): For sources which are not readily available to the reviewer because they are off-line or behind a paywall, the nominator must provide a copy for review. This could be done by ... providing a direct quotation from the source. So to close this nom: here's the quote supporting the hook; good thing it's online:

English: I left 12 suggestions for the representatives and senators. ... One of these proposals, which seems impossible, was a request to change labor laws so that women could work at night. / News Agency - They couldn't work at night? / Dercy Furtado - They couldn't. I took this issue to Minister Arnaldo da Costa Prieto (of Labor and Social Security, in the Geisel administration), who reviewed the situation. It was the chemists in Bahia who asked me to do this.

Hope that help. ミラP@Miraclepine 16:34, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Appreciate it, but that's not an issue in this case. I found it corroborated in multiple Portuguese sources, hence my approval of the nom. It's just AGF because I definitely am not close to fluent in Portuguese. CMD (talk) 16:46, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Machine translations are fine; it's just that AGF approval doesn't add this to Approved.--Launchballer 16:52, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Proud of myself, a little :)

Not a historian

[edit]

Furtado earned a degree in history, but that doesn't make her a historian. To say she was a historian, we would need to see a list of the books and papers she published about history. I'm removing "historian" until we see that. TooManyFingers (talk) 05:16, 29 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
