Dennis Breedlove

Could someone elaborate on what is meant when Dennis Breedlove “brought back” some of the seeds, does that mean that he reintroduced them or that he brought some samples to California so that they could be grown Horticulturally.

Breedlove was a botanist at the California Academy of Science; he both discovered the unnamed species, and brought seed to be cultivated at botanical gardens, including UCBG, Strybing, and the Huntington. He also named it many years later. The holotype is at the Cal Academy. The reintroduction to Mexico was decades later, I believe from stock at the UCBG. Hortica (talk) 17:53, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
