Revising "contrasted with Marxism-Leninism" and opposition

[edit]

I think this should be changed in the article, but not sure how to best do it. Lots of Democratic Socialists would call themselves Marxist-Leninists, but do not think the conditions are suitable for any kind of straightforward implementation in their current environments, and would need to explore some alternative forms of socialism/communism. Question:

[edit]

Uh.. Simple question: Why is the article about Democratic Socialism not protected? Obviously this would be the target of vandalism. Like seriously. So, how come an article about ROBLOX is extra-protected, but not the one about Democratic Socialism? Not even edit moderation?  Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.90.245.66 (talkcontribs) 19:33, March 17, 2021 (UTC)

Add a Section for Criticisms

[edit]

A with most political and economic system topics, there's an explicit section titled something like "Criticisms" wherein all of the criticisms are collected. For example, this text could be a starting point:

Critics argue that democratic socialism is economically inefficient because state control or heavy regulation stifles innovation, reduces incentives for high-skill workers, and leads to bureaucratic bloat. There are significant concerns regarding fiscal sustainability, with opponents warning that expansive welfare programs require unsustainable taxation levels and increase national debt, potentially causing capital flight and economic stagnation. From a political perspective, critics contend that expanding state control over the economy inevitably erodes individual liberty and risks sliding toward authoritarianism. Additionally, the ideology faces internal and external conceptual disputes: Marxist-Leninists argue it is unfeasible to achieve soc:::ialism through democratic means without revolutionary suppression of counter-revolutionary forces, while liberal democrats question the fundamental compatibility of socialist economic planning with liberal democratic institutions.Critics argue that democratic socialism is economically inefficient because state control or heavy regulation stifles innovation, reduces incentives for high-skill workers, and leads to bureaucratic bloat.
