I have rewritten the section on 'Defect Prevention'. It's a little easier to read now. --Dazzla 10:52, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Defect tracking doesn't include 'finding' defects

[edit]

My understanding was always that defect tracking did not cover the finding part (which would be V&V), nor the actual fixing of the product. Am I mistaken, or is the definition here incorrect? --Mattsheppard 03:55, 24 October 2006 (UTC) Hi, my writing on defect tracking was exactly to the specific topic. Not sure why it was removed. Please reconsider. CH Thanks 68.34.70.218 (talk) 17:25, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge with Bug tracking systems?

[edit]

This little stub seems like it could easily be included as a sub-section in Bug tracking system. I think the explanation probably isn't big enough to warrant it's own article but is well served there. AliveFreeHappy (talk) 19:53, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

No, defect tracking is a superset of bug tracking, as bug tracking is specific to software while defect tracking can include cracks in bridges and whatnot MagnesiumMug (talk) 06:03, 16 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
