unite or coordinate
[edit]The opening line "Deep Earth Carbon Degassing (DECADE) project is an initiative to unite scientists around the world": unite is political, but if the idea is to use common protocols, standardized instruments, and collect data from multiple locations that can subsequently be integrated into larger data sets, then perhaps coordinate is a better word.
