Is the lead image implying that HK & Macau are “colonies” of China?

Turkey

[edit]

The color of Turkey in the first map is apparently missing. You may want to paint it in dark blue  Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.230.131.236 (talk) 08:51, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Naturally, for some bizarre reason the map is actually "Age of Government", that is "Countries by date of independence or current constitution (whichever is more recent)". Remsense 🌈  09:22, 5 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Decolonizing curriculum in Britain

[edit]

I fail to see how none of this is relevant to the topic of decolonization. 89.241.55.201 (talk) 13:45, 22 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Constituion changing doesn't equal to gaining sovereignty. Matei420 (talk) 04:51, 20 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

The American revolution was not decolonization.

[edit]

A settler colonial state (that was and still is engaging in settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing) declaring independence from a wider empire is not even remotely decolonization. ~2026-35348-94 (talk) 07:30, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

The Decolonization of the Americas, including its many states with large settler populations, is generally treated as part of the global decolonization process in that the region fell mostly out of the control of European-based powers. CMD (talk) 05:41, 18 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
