Is this done with hot water, or with cold water? Also, the longer one boils an herb, the more "bitter principle" is extracted. This should be mentioned in the article. Badagnani (talk) 04:14, 22 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The ethymology is wrong. Particle 'de' in this case is a short for 'des' to indicate decomposition through 'coccion'.
