1979 or 1980?
[edit]SPI officially lists the January 1980: https://www.spigames.net/spi_games_by_title.htm All other sources say 1980, sigh. @BOZ just in case you have access to cited offline reviews to double check Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:55, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
- This is one of those few SPI games articles that was started before @Guinness323 and I started working on them. As to the sources I have access to, Space Gamer says 1979: I do not see a date in Ares: Casus Belli says 1979: and Black Gate says 1979: . Consensus goes to 1979, although the publisher does say 1980. Hmm. BOZ (talk) 06:24, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hmmm indeed. I've seen cases where the game/book was printed in one year and bears the copyright from it but de facto released (sold) the next one (usually December/January issues). Not saying this is the case here, pure speculation, but the fact this is a January release according to the publisher could be of relevance. Wonder what the copyright tag on the game says. - The rules have a copyright date of 1979 on the front cover.Guinness323 (talk) 06:51, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
- Then I think we should go with 1979; since even the official materials contradict themselves and all secondary ones prefer 79. Wikidata already has 79; I'll update category here. Can you add a footnote for rules for the date? I think it's ok to use a primary source in this case. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:01, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
