"facultative feeder"

I returned to this article to clean up a couple things, and saw "disambiguation required" note by the sentence "D. plumbeus is a facultative pollen feeder", for the word "facultative". To be brief, I was unable to find any real supporting note for this in the cited work:

Originally, the citation was for "A Field Guide to Color in Beetles", 1984, pg. 334. I've looked at the copy at Archive.org; the original page was wrong, and the correct page (pg. 164) doesn't say anything about being a facultative feeder.
The paper Hoebeke and Wheeler paper on D. plumbeus being found in North America cites the above (incorrect) link, but doesn't provide any further context. (Handy ResearchGate link: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/280122574_Dasytesplumbeus_Muller_Coleoptera_Melyridae_Dasytinae_a_Palearctic_soft-winged_flower_beetle_new_to_North_America)
My guess is that the original intention was Facultative saprophyte -- but I can't find any citation to back that up, other than papers citing Hoebeke & Wheeler, which feels like a bit of an echo chamber.

Given all that, I removed the "facultative feeder" phrase, and thus the warning about needing disambiguation. Hopefully I haven't messed up here.
