The bit about Fogelberg's ranch being up for sale was deleted earlier today by someone who added that Fogelberg resided in Maine, yet did not provide a source. I re-added the information about the ranch (which was already sourced), combined it with the information about his Maine residence, and added a source. i know the musician Dan Fogelberg for years. The musician did not own real estate -- ever -- not in Maine and not in Colorado, since the man was always busy working. The musician Dan Fogelberg did not live in Maine. He lived in Colorado since 1982, never left. And, no one can sell real estate by marketing illegally. No legal real estate listing can say the musician Dan Fogelberg lived or owned some home in Maine since he was never in Maine. There's such a thing as title searches on For Sale properties . . . Mother's Maiden Name

The official website (www.danfogelberg.com) says that Dan's mother was Margaret Irvine. I see her listed in this article and in other places as Margaret Young, and in fewer places as Margaret Irvine. Not having any information as to the reason for the discrepancy, I would suggest that the official website should be the trusted source, and the Wikipedia article should be changed. Best Know For?

"Longer"?!? Come on, now! I'd say the most popular would be "Same Old Lang Syne." Other more notable (in my opinion) creations are "Heart Hotels" and "Run for the Roses" and "Part of the Plan." But, by a long shot, "Same Old Lang Syne" belongs in first position. You could be right. Both Amazon and iTunes currently list "Same Old Lang Syne" as his best-selling song, with "Leader of the Band" at #2 and "Longer" as #3. On the other hand, "Longer" seems to have charted higher, and last.fm users have listened to "Longer" nearly twice as many times as to "Same Old Lang Syne". You might want to review the sources cited by the article about the song, Same Old Lang Syne, which goes into a lot more detail about the origins of the song including the location of the chance encounter and the name of the woman involved. Correction- Dan's first wife was Peggie Slaymaker from Nashville. I would know because she lived in the same old apartment building as me in '73-74. No one knows whom the woman Jean Mayer-Dailey was with, but she was not with the musician, and she changed many facts about the musician's life in this article. She created the danfogelberg website, which is based entirely on the woman's delusions and possibly hallucinations. Fogelberg's discography is wrong; some album publications are fake, unlicensed. His forever home is Colorado, where he landed in 1982. He never owned real estate. His parents were Swedish immigrants: his father of German descent, his mother of French descent. The musician Dan Fogelberg never announced prostate cancer in 2004, since he did not have prostate cancer. The musician's last published and licensed album was 1997 "Portrait." I don't need anyone touching this article and, I don't need to provide references. I have been married to the man, Daniel Grayling Fogelberg, since 1997.The source is the man himself, whom I have known since 1978. He didn't have three wives. . . . The original article was fine. It's because Wikipedia allows anyone with a keyboard to edit any article. The last guy -- who took it on himself to make changes -- made reference to Bruce Eder, who is actually one of the criminal bootleggers, who now sits in prison where Dan and Irv sent him. this article needs to be scrapped, deleted entirely since it is against international laws to post or publish false information onto the internet. The musician Dan Fogelberg retired from the music industry 25 years ago, after 11 music Publications. His last music publication was in 1997, "Portrait." Anything after that is Criminal and bootleg. His contributions to the music industry ended probably before Wikipedia began. There have been countless edits to this article when there has been absolutely no activity from Daniel Grayling Fogelberg since 2000, when he retired from the music industry. The only correct information is Dan Fogelberg's date of birth. He didn't have three wives. He didn't live in Maine, didn't own real estate. He couldn't have published countless albums after they claimed he was dead but he is not dead. He didn't announce prostate cancer in 2004. There is no news article to support that statement.There is no death certificate for the musician named Daniel Fogelberg. The constant and incessant lies and false information are pointless, and in violation of many laws. It is all bootleggers trying to sell their Criminal music Publications, while they ride a retired musicians coattails. THE ARTICLE NEEDS TO BE SCRAPPED. Do you have a source for anything you just said? The reason why people edit the article years after his passing is because they're trying to improve it. The same thing goes for any dead person's article, like Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, and John Lennon.
