Word daisy

A question about a use of the word 'daisy': In the film 'Tombstone' (the story of the Earp brothers et al) the character Doc Holliday uses the term 'daisy' at least twice. I believe that its attribution to him is historically accurate. Is the term 'daisy' as used in this contect some archaic slang term from Holliday's time/place, or was it particular to him. I am no expert on Wikipedia; could somebody disambiguate this entry as I believe the default should be the Daisy flower and then offer disama biguation page for all the other meanings. This would be consistent with Rose, Carnation, etc. --SquareDeal 12:38, 26 Apr 2006

Daisy is more commonly known as Despina, in Greek. It is also known as Marguerite in French, or Margarida in portuguese.

Reworded from my answer to a question on my Talk page: Lists of people who share a given name (or surname) do not normally go on disambiguation pages -- they go (if anywhere) on articles, and there's a project for it: Wikipedia:WikiProject Anthroponymy. Since an anthroponymy article exists, try adding such a list of people with the given name "Daisy" to Daisy (given name), similar to the list on Juniper (given name), of, if the consensus there is to keep a list of name-holders off the article, create a separate list article such as List of Susans and link it from Daisy (given name). I don't think that the term daisy alone is significantly more strongly associated with Bellis perennis than any other species. For example, a 1990 New York Times article on daisies and gardening says: The most memorable daisy that many gardeners know is the oxeye (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum).
