Why *three* hydroxyls?
[edit]The definiton of the family seems rather arbitrary. Why *three* hydroxyls, and not two or four? If they were in specific positions (say consecutive) there could be a chemical reason, but apparently that is not the case. All the best, --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 15:43, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
