Counts

[edit]

Ponthieu was a province of France. It only nominally would ally with the Dukes of Normandy. Dragon1 00:33, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Date Issue

[edit]

There's a problem with these dates. Jeanne of Dammartin, it says, was born 1251, and married Ferdinand III, who died in 1252, with whom she had 5 children. I suspect her birthdate must be wrong. Jredwards 19:47, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Those are the years of their rule, not the years of their living. Jeanne Dammartin became Countess upon the death of her mother - listed as dying in 1251 (and whose start date is 1221 - 5 years after Jeanne's birth). Michael Sanders 20:01, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Curious that the shield is so similar to that of the dukes of Burgundy! —Tamfang (talk) 05:29, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
