Disclosure: I am Jae Kwon, the subject of the proposed additions. Per WP:COI I am not editing the article directly and am requesting review by an uninvolved editor.
1. Expand the founding sentence. Replace:
- The Cosmos project was initiated in 2014 by Jae Kwon, who developed the Tendermint consensus algorithm.
with:
- The Cosmos project was initiated in 2014 by Jae Kwon, who the same year published "Tendermint: Consensus without Mining", the first protocol to apply Byzantine fault tolerant consensus to a proof-of-stake blockchain.[1][2] Kwon co-founded All in Bits, Inc. with Ethan Buchman to develop the protocol.[3]
2. Add to the history section, after the Ignite rebrand sentence:
- Kwon stepped down as chief executive of the company in 2020 and in 2022 founded NewTendermint, which develops Gno.land, a smart contract platform using Gno, a deterministic variant of the Go programming language.[4]
Note on sourcing: the Gno.land mainnet launch of September 2026 is at present supported only by a company press release, which I understand is not a reliable source for this purpose. I am not requesting that it be added. Jaekwon777 (talk) 03:14, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
