Margaret Jacob, in her The radical enlightenment, new edition 2006, seems to use the word Commonwealthman more or less synonymous with "radical whig", or at least a subspecies of them. Her main examples are John Toland, Matthew Tindall and Anthony Collins, but there are others in her gallery that may also belong here. My question is if "commonwealthman" was perhaps used in a wider sense than this article at the time they appeared? Jan Wiklund (talk) 16:11, 15 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
