Discrimination based on skin tone → Colorism – WP:CONCISE + WP:COMMONNAME. Current title is too long and colorism is the most used term according to Google Ngrams. 🌙Eclipse (she/they/it • talk • edits) 01:18, 17 September 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. msk 00:41, 24 September 2026 (UTC)

- Support Easily the more common term. TolWol (talk) 05:44, 20 September 2026 (UTC)
- Personally, I don't recall ever encountering the term colorism before. Is it a neologism? The examples I encounter with a quick search are all rather recent. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:02, 24 September 2026 (UTC)
- Merriam-Webster says the term was first used in the 1940s. The term in its current context though, was first used in 1982 by Alice Walker, who is most famous for The Color Purple ◎ 4. I wouldn't say the term is a neologism IMO as it is over 84 years old. It gradually became more used over time in its current context and that is term people commonly use to refer to the phenomon. 🌙Eclipse (SMAAAASH!) 20:59, 24 September 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. I had noticed that one of the examples given by Merriam-Webster refers to Alice Walker. — BarrelProof (talk) 22:57, 24 September 2026 (UTC)

- Comment. The current title does avoid having to choose between the American "color/ism" and the Commonwealth "colour/ism". -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:40, 25 September 2026 (UTC)
- Support as more accurate and generally common term. Koshuri (あ!) 13:20, 25 September 2026 (UTC)
