Request edits to Intro and History sections
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. Set |answered=no to reactivate the request if necessary. |
Hi. I would like to request the following edits to keep the article updated:
- In the Introduction, please change the third line from "it has more than $65 billion in assets under management as of January 2025" to "it has more than $67 billion in assets under management as of January 2026."
- Please change the last sentence in the Introduction to:
- As of December 2025, Citadel has posted $90.4 billion in net gains since its inception in 1990, making it the most successful hedge fund in history, according to LCH Investments.[1][2]
- In the 2021-present sub-head in the History section, please add the following directly after the sixth paragraph:
- In June 2024, Citadel agreed to purchase Japanese power company Energy Grid. The transaction was the first major US investment in Japan's wholesale energy market in the past few years.[3]
- Before the existing 2025 information, please add the following:
- In March 2025, Citadel purchased Paloma Natural Gas (now Apex Natural Gas) for about $1 billion.[4]
- At the end of the History section, please add the following:
- Citadel's AUM increased to $67 billion at the start of 2026, despite returning approximately $5 billion to investors.[5]

- Hi, Cduffymul. Thank you so much for helping keep the article updated & following all our COI guidelines, and sorry for how long it has taken to process this!
Done, I added the reference used in bullet #5 to back this up
Done, I kept the claim of CNBC calling them one of the most successful that was in the sentence you wanted replaced, so it reads according to LCH Investments, and CNBC
, both claims referenced. I also wiki-linked LCH Investments to LCH (clearing house). I'm not too sure about finance but I think that's the same thing? And I also put it it quotes just to be a bit clearer, so it readsAs of December 2025, Citadel has posted $90.4 billion in net gains since its inception in 1990, making one of the "most successful hedge funds in history," according to LCH Investments,[8][9] and CNBC.[10][11]

- Actually, I just changed my mind a little on bullet 5, I've changed the wording to
Citadel's assests under management (AUM) increased to $67 billion at the start of 2026, and they returned approximately $5 billion to investors.
, just to clarify the acronym, and as I'm not really sure if the "despite" framing is right, as ideally a successfully company would do both things! But otherwise, it's all good, thanks! If there's ever a long delay like this again, you can feel free to ask me on my talk, I'm happy to take requests to look at a certain edit request if I have the time :) MolecularPilot Talk 01:05, 26 April 2026 (UTC)- Just realised that LCH Investments isn't that same as LCH (clearing house) so I've replaced it with a redlink (rather than no link, as LCH seems like a notable company that might get its own article someday). Hello. The following edit suggestions are to update the article:
- In the 2011-2020 sub-section of the "History" section, please add the following immediately after the first paragraph:
- In 2014, Citadel created Citadel Energy Marketing (CEM), a business that acts as an intermediary, bringing natural gas, oil, and electricity from producers to consumers.[1]
- Please change the heading "Corporate affairs" to "Corporate activities," which is a more accurate description of the section.
- Please replace the heading "Citadel ownership" with "Bond issuances," also a better description of the paragraph that follows.
- Please add the following additional sentence at the end of the newly named "Bond issuances" section, as an update:
- In February 2026, Citadel raised $1.25 billion in a two-part bond sale to pay off debt and other general corporate functions.[2]
- Please add the following sentence to the end of the last paragraph in the "Employees" sub-section of the "Corporate activities" section:
- The company was also named a "Great Place to Work" in July 2026. [3]
- Please add the following two paragraphs after the last paragraph of the "Employees" sub-section, also to update the section.
- By April 2025, almost 100% of employees in Chicago who were offered relocation moved either to Miami or New York, with about 400 workers already located in Miami. Citadel is involved in an effort to create stronger ties to the Brickell neighborhood surrounding its office tower in Miami, where about 100 Citadel employees already live.[4]
- In July 2025, Citadel hired David Stark, MD, a former Morgan Stanley executive, as the company's first chief medical officer, overseeing initiatives related to employee health and wellness.[5][6]
