Metropolis
[edit]Deleted a statement that Metropolis (1927) was the first feature length science fiction film, which is incorrect. There are several feature length scifi films (such as Aelita: Queen of Mars (1924), for example) which predate Metropolis. Johnkhc (talk) 23:22, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
Bullock, Dunst, Waltz in Personalities section
[edit]Sandra Bullock and Kirsten Dunst are listed in the Personalities section. Why? Neither was born in Germany, both got German citizenship much later, as 30- or 40-year-olds. Most importantly, as far as I'm aware, neither contributed notably (or at all?) to "Cinema of Germany" (i.e. movies produced in Germany), which is what this article is about. If we were talking about lists of 'notable actors of German descent' or 'personalities with German citizenship', fine, but not here.
Christoph Waltz is proud to be Austrian ⇒ there is a Cinema of Austria article. He's been in smaller German films, but are these really notable contributions to German cinema? His high profile work and fame has been in US productions.
How about replacing them with people like Tom Tykwer, Til Schweiger, Moritz Bleibtreu, Veronika Ferres, Bernd Eichinger, Jost Vacano, Armin Rohde, Joachim Król, Otto Sander, Mario Adorf, Romy Schneider, Liselotte Pulver (Swiss, but appeared in lots of German productions), Ingrid Steeger, Hildegard Knef. ~2025-36760-53 (talk) 02:10, 29 November 2025 (UTC)
